Executive Director's Message

Greetings ISM-Fort Worth Members,

Change is inevitable and our association has seen its share of change over the last several years.  ISM-Fort Worth has been affiliated with ISM (Institute for Supply Management) Global in Tempe, AZ and this relationship will continue.  ISM Global has issued a new agreement that must be signed by each local Chapter in order to continue the affiliation.  One of the requirements is that members of the local Chapter must be registered members of ISM Global.  ISM-Fort Worth may not have any associate members who are not members of ISM.  This is a change in direction from where we were moving previously but not all bad.  We don’t have all the details but we will be working with those who have paid for membership as a local Chapter only member.

ISM-Fort Worth will have an event monthly but not necessarily a dinner type meeting.  One of the other new requirements is that we provide events that provide 8 CE hours as a part of ISM membership.  So, for this fall we have planned a dinner meeting in September and November with a plant tour in October all of which will allow credit for at least one CE hour each.  A similar schedule will be posted for the spring.

Another change will be that ISM Global will be collecting dues and any fees charged for a local Chapter event so ISM-Fort Worth will not be collecting moneys via credit card transactions on our website.  A link for payment of any fee for an event, as applicable, will be provided during the event registration process.

The ISM-Fort Worth Board of Directors will also be updated in the coming months.  There are some new volunteers along with the more experienced volunteers.  Volunteering for leadership in the Chapter never goes out of style and we always need more people who would like to help see the association grow!

ISM-Fort Worth’s Roy L. Anderson Memorial Golf Tournament, September 23rd – it is upon us and we need everyone’s support to make it successful.  There is a tournament informational flyer, a letter from Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price, and a form letter that anyone can use to send to a prospective sponsor or player.  These documents are located on the Golf Tournament page on the website.  Even if you don’t play golf you can volunteer to help the day of the tournament or just come to the post tournament dinner.  Silent auction, raffles, sale of squares, a guest speaker are all part of the evening festivities.

CPSM Certification Training – we are finally finishing arrangements for training to start in October.  More details to follow.

This has been more than a mouthful but it is all important as we attempt to grow ISM-Fort Worth and deliver value to our members.

Feel free to contact me at 972-603-9233 if you have questions concerning any of the above.

Thank you,

Steve Ballenger, CPSM
